Homecarer

As a homecarer, you can expect to work in a role that is one of the most fulfilling roles within Care at Home and Housing Support Services. Providing direct support to individuals in their own home, a homecarer role offers real job satisfaction and is a crucial link for the vulnerable people in our care. Our homecarers join us from all walks of life and are as diverse as the individuals they support.

To be a homecarer, you need to want to work in the support of all individuals from all different backgrounds and with a large and varied level of support needs. In return, you’ll be rewarded by being in a role where you feel you can really make a different in someone’s life.

As a homecarer, you will be a crucial part of the team that support individuals to feel safe and supported within their own home. As part of the Hazelhead Homecare team, you will share our aim to provide a support service that respects the rights of people to express their individuality and feel supported to make choices and express preferences.

A homecarer role will require you to have patience, compassion, and an ability to work unsupervised as you will often work alone supporting an individual in their own home. The role can be demanding whilst being one of the most fulfilling roles within Social Care services. You will care for people with different abilities and support needs and the role brings challenges as well as rewards. Our customers include people with a wide range of emotional and physical needs. You will need patience, compassion and an ability to listen and be supportive at all times.

At Hazelhead we will provide you with the training and support you need to work in the role of a homecarer to support the vulnerable people in our care services.

As a homecarer you will be required to travel to people within their own homes to provide support services. A Full driving Licence and access to your own car is therefore essential for the post.
